Nie Shiwei, born in 1983 in Shandong, graduated from the Mural Painting Department of China Academy of Art in 2008, and now lives and works in Beijing.

 

Nie Shiwei works in the medium of painting, but also in ceramics and sculpture. His works are often inspired by art history or everyday images to find new viewing logics, and he constantly tries to re-establish the description of the body, space, emotions and moods in a more intuitive way and with a deeper sense of self, to form new forms and narratives.
